Fire & Fury by K. de Long6/9/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Norris started to work almost exclusively on high-profile action films with Cannon, becoming their leading star during the 1980s. He went on to make studio films like Silent Rage (1982) with Columbia, Forced Vengeance (1982) with MGM, and Lone Wolf McQuade (1983) with Orion. This made Norris an international celebrity. Norris went on to star in a streak of bankable independently-made action and martial arts films, with A Force of One (1979), The Octagon (1980), and An Eye for an Eye (1981). His second lead Good Guys Wear Black (1978) became a hit, and he soon became a popular action film star. Norris took the starring role in the action film Breaker! Breaker! The vampire lestat audio book6/8/2023 ![]() ![]() To be made out to be the bad guy in the first book but then for the twist was just awesome ![]() This book was not at all like i thought it would be…the story from this point of view just blew me out of the water. Review 2: The Vampire Lestat audiobook by Mark STILL LOVED IT I hope Audible will release more unabridged Anne Rice books (The Mayfair Witch novels!). This novel stands alone very well if you haven’t read the other Anne Rice books since it only makes a few references to Interview with the Vampire. I’ve read the paperback edition of this book many times but Simon Vance narrates very well and captures the cheeky, elegant character of Lestat very well and brings out some subtleties that I’ve missed before. This has always been my favourite novel from the Vampire Chronicles series (even though Interview with the Vampire is more popular) but I’ve always held off downloading it from Audible because it was only available abridged (aka butchered) but when this edition became available I downloaded this, Interview and Queen of the Damned immediately! Review 1: The Vampire Lestat audiobook by Patricia Finally unabridged! Excellently read, great listen Here are the top 3 reviews and comments that readers love about this fascinating book. He has spent the centuries searching for people like him, mysterious and terrifying. The story is about Lestat who was once aristocrat in the early days of France, now he is a rock star full of ghosts in the 1980s. The Vampire Lestat is the second book in The Vampire Chronicles series by famous author Anne Rice. ![]()

The blue mind book6/8/2023 ![]() ![]() “We’ve studied your brain on everything - wine, music, even bacon. Nichols began looking for research on the neuroscience of water. Marketers have understood this for a while.” ![]() “Even what we have for breakfast is an emotional decision,” he said. Nichols learned the fishermen take pride in their work, and their colleagues were their friends, so there was a social aspect to it.ĭuring his research he also discovered all decisions have an emotional component. He asked if they would consider a job building boats, which is safer and pays more. “But I knew that couldn’t be the only reason,” he said. So Nichols asked fishermen what motivated them to kill an endangered animal. ![]() “I knew I could study sea turtles and travel to great places but to solve the problem I needed to work with the people who were hunting them,” he added. “I wanted to help solve problems, not identify them or describe them. “I knew a small group of people would read my papers but I would never change the world,” he said. To Catch a Pirate by Jade Parker6/8/2023 ![]() Observing Annalisa attempt to try and retain some shred of her manners and moral compass, whilst James crossed every line he could think of was quite uniquely funny. I wanted to reach into the book and rock the boat, effectively knocking the pair of them together because that was all it would take. But at the same time I was terribly annoyed (as any reader would be) at seeing them fight what was so obvious to me. I couldn't help but find comical how they sent verbal jabs at each other about manners and education. ![]() Watching Annalisa and James was as much fun as it was irritating. Delightfully on the egde between politeness and plain-and-simple bad manners, courteous and outright rude it was absolutely great! To Catch A Pirate is what you would get had Jane Austen ever met a pirate, and decided to write about them. ![]() When the highborn lady Annalisa Townsend has her first kiss stolen from her by a pirate, in exchange for not taking her necklace, something snaps in her and all the manners and good upbringing will not stop her from getting her own back on the seafaring perpetrator. I soon found out that Annalisa Townsend wasn't quite the damsel in distress I thought she might be. ![]() Like most girls, I am guilty of having a slight weakness for simple damsel in distress books with a historical background. What initially attracted me to this book was the simple and refined cover, and the synopsis. ![]() |
